The success of the Operation
House ID program is directly related to the quality and work
of the local affiliates in communities around the country.
It was determined in the early years of the program the best
way to make communities aware of the importance of having
homes properly addresses was through the use of local affiliates.
These affiliates are independent distributors and must meet
criteria, follow guidelines and be trained thoroughly.
Some affiliates are full time and some part-time including
EMT’s and Firefighters. The majority of orders from
communities are a result of flyers being distributed door
to door. Other methods of getting the word out include displays
at garden centers, hardware stores, fundraisers, and one on
one presentations
Affiliates are often noted by local news media for the outstanding
job they are doing and the magnificent improvements they are
making to the communities. Without specific numbers it can
safely be asserted every affiliate is making a difference
and has a part in saving lives and will far into the future.
